Isopentenyl-Diphosphate Delta Isomerase 1, Isopentenyl pyrophosphate isomerase 1, IPP isomerase 1, IPPI1
Description:
|Introduction Isopentenyl-diphosphate isomerase 1 (IDI1) belongs to the IPP isomerase type I family and is involved in cholesterol biosynthesis. IDI1 is a peroxisomally-localized enzyme which catalyzes the interconversion of isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) to its highly electrophilic isomer, dimethylallyl diphosphate (DMAPP), which is the substrate for the sequential reaction that results in the synthesis of farnesyl diphosphate and, eventually, cholesterol. Peroxisomal deficiency diseases such as Zellweger syndrome and neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy show a reduction in IPP isomerase activity. |Reco|E. coli-derived. A single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 248 amino acids (1-228) and having a molecular mass of 28.6 kDa. IDI1 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus. Purity: > 90% as determined by SDS-|The IDI1 solution (1 mg/ml) contains 20 mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 1 mM DTT, 10% glycerol and 0.1 M NaCl. Shipping: The product is shipped with ice |Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. 12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied.
